What We Do

The Project Planning & Implementation Division works with various ministries in the government both at center and state level. Broadly, the projects in the Project Planning & Implementation Division can be divided into two types of projects –

Strategic Projects

Strategic projects typically involve working with government and assisting bureaucrats in problem solving and managing an issue of importance. Such projects are extremely diverse and could range from (but not limited to) –

  • Helping set up the project management unit for various key government initiatives
  • Setting up dashboards to monitor performance of government schemes/initiatives/action plans
  • Analyzing data for key government schemes and assisting the government in taking actions/reforms based on the findings
  • Strategic research for various ministries to help them in short and long term formulation of policies
    The Project Planning & Implementation Division has worked with number of Ministries on projects, including (but not limited to) – Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ministry of Railways, NITI Aayog (erstwhile planning commission of India), Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Department of Administrative Reform and Public Grievances (DARPG) and others.

Implementation Projects

Implementation projects typically involve the Project Planning & Implementation Division taking over the implementation of a particular govt. scheme or initiative and executing it in its entirety. Such projects will typically involve the following phases –

  • Formulation of exact project methodology along with focus areas, surveys and stakeholders
  • Creation of the project plan along with timelines, required manpower
  • Coordination with various stakeholders (govt. agencies at centre and state levels, ULBs, Tech, PR agencies and a number of others)
  • Mobilization and execution of the project along with review of performance (typically done in real time)

Similarly, the Project Planning & Implementation Division has worked with a number of Ministries on projects, including (but not limited to) – Ministry Urban Development, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Skills, State Government of Gujarat, National Skills Development Corporation, Ministry of Human Resources Development, National Council for Teacher Education and others

Some of the key government schemes and initiatives we are working on are –Swachh Bharat Mission, Make in India, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana


What does a person working in The Project Planning & Implementation Division do on a daily basis?

The Project Planning & Implementation Division is a flat organization with minimal hierarchy. As such, folks in the Project Planning & Implementation Division are responsible for end to end delivery of projects, from the first business development meeting with the client, finalizing scope of the project, execution of project (involving meetings, data analysis, coordination, team setup and so on) to the final delivery of project to the client. People will generally be working on various work-streams allotted to them in each project and will be responsible for working on their deliverables.

The Project Planning & Implementation Division offers primarily front-end client facing role. In our case, the nature of work is such that a majority of our interaction will be with officials working at various levels in the government. While a majority of the work we do involves interaction with various IAS/IFS/IRS officers working within the government, the role is evolved such that we will meet everyone from lowest level government official to officials’ right at the top. Sometime, we even get to meet a minister or two, and on two separate document cases till date, the Prime Minister himself!

People working in The Project Planning & Implementation Division come from a variety of professional background such as consulting (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Deloitte-US), Investment Banking (Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse), Private Equity (IFC – World Bank, Premji Investments), operations (Reliance, HUL), Social Sector (Teach for India, Jaanaagraha) and educational backgrounds like Engineering (MIT, IITs, BITs,), Liberal Arts (SRCC, St. Stephens, LSR, KNC), Law (ILS), Management (IIMs, Amity) etc.


We also collaborate with a number of private and public enterprises around the world
